** During the month of July EIUpanthers.com will take a look back at 13 moments, events or performances that helped shape the 2014-15 school year. ** Eastern Illinois women's basketball continued its string of appearances in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament as the Panthers once again made the trip to Nashville to compete in the OVC post-season. EIU extended its streak to eight straight years as the Panthers finished the year with a 7-9 mark in conference play. The eight straight appearances is the longest active streak in the OVC and includes three appearances in the OVC Tournament Championship game. This year marked a change to the women's tournament format as team's no longer received first round byes. EIU's season ended in the opening round of the tournament.
During the year the Panthers were led by first team All-OVC selection Sabina Oroszova as she ranked in the top five in the OVC in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. She was 10th in the OVC in steals and field goal percentage. She finished her career second on the EIU career list for both blocked shots and rebounds, with her rebounding total ranking in the top 15 all-time in the OVC. During the year she set the single game record for blocked shots with six on three occasions.
Oroszova was joined in the OVC top ten by teammates Erica Brown and Grace Lennox. Brown ranked third in the OVC in blocked shots for the season. Lennox was sixth in assists.
