Eastern Illinois Athletics wrapped up its 20th year as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference in May.  As a way to celebrate the many accomplishments, both team and individual during that time period, EIU conducted an online poll during the month of May for fans to help select the Top 20 athletes of the Panthers OVC Era.  During the month of June we will unveil the top 20 athletes as selected by the more than 2,500 fan votes submitted.  The original list of 40 athletes was comprised by a committee looking at a variety of criteria including Player of the Year, All-American selection and multiple time first-team All-OVC honors.  
 
#12 Reynae Hutchinson (2010-14)
 
Hutchinson was a four-year starter in two sports for Eastern Illinois from 2010-14 helping both the Panthers volleyball and softball teams win championships.   On the volleyball court Hutchinson earned All-OVC Newcomer Team honors in 2010 before finishing her career with back-to-back All-OVC honors in 2012 and 2013.  As a senior she helped EIU win the OVC West Division Championship as the league played divisions for a short stint.  She ranks fourth on the EIU career kills list with 1,258 and is one of 12 players to finish their EIU careers with more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.  On the softball diamond Hutchinson played first base and spend some time in the pitcher's circle.  She was a member of the 2011 and 2013 OVC Regular Season Championship teams.  As a senior she capped her EIU playing days earning first team All-OVC honors in 2014.   Hutchinson is the career leader in sacrifice flys, ranks fourth in career RBI with 104 and fifth in career home runs with 19.  Defensively she ended her career ranked fourth in career put outs. 
 
Hutchinson is currently a sales consultant and educator living in the Indianapolis area.
