Brenton is a senior sprinter... missed 2008 outdoor season with a medical redshirt... limited to only one indoor meet, EIU Early Bird, due to injury... placed 8th in 60m and 400m at Early Bird... scored points for 2007 OVC Indoor championship team with third place in 400 meters... personal bests in 200m and 400m during the season with both marks coming at Iowa State Classic... second team All-OVC in 400m dash... set personal best in 400 dash at Vanderbilt Invite with a time of 47.16 which ranks 5th on EIU career list... finished 32nd at NCAA Regional in 400m... member of OVC runner-up in 4x400 relay... relay time of 3:12.16 ranked 10th on EIU career list... was a member of the EIU second place team in the 4x100 relay at the 2006 OVC Outdoor Championships... fifth place finisher at OVC’s in the 400 meters in a time of 48.44... ninth place finish in 200 meters at OVC’s at 22.35... placed first in the 100 meter dash and second in the 200 meter dash at the EIU Big Blue Classic... distance medley relay team placed first at the Kansas Relays... earned First Team All-OVC honors in the 2006 indoor meet by running a leg on the winning distance medley relay... also ran on the third place 4x400 relay and finished fourth in the 400 (49.76)... as a freshman at the 2005 league outdoor meet, Brenton ran on the third place 4x400 relay and placed fifth in the 400 dash (48.83)... he was fifth in the 400 meters at the 2005 indoor meet in 50.29... HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Normal West HS where he was the ‘Athlete of the Year’... earned four letters in track, two in football... earned all-state and All-Big 12 Conference honors in the 100 and 200... earned bronze medal in the 400 at an AAU Junior Olympic meet.
