#Megan Gingerich# of women's indoor track and #Ta'Kenya Nixon# of women's basketball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Gingerich was selected to run in the seeded 800m race at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite last weekend where she placed 7th in the event.  Her time of 2:10.96 in the race landed first on the Panthers career charts.

Nixon nearly averaged a double-double for the week as EIU beat SIU Edwardsville and Southeast Missouri.  Nixon had her fourth double-double of the year on Thursday against SIUE. For the week she averaged 17 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists.
