Mariah King from women's basketball and Michael Bower from men's swimming were named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

King averaged 23 points per game in a pair of wins for the Panthers. On Saturday at Southeast Missouri she scored a career high 30 points making 11 of-13 shots from the field. King added a total of 14 rebounds in the two games.

Bower picked up a pair of wins on Saturday to help the EIU men defeat Western Illinois. Bower was a two-event second place finisher on Friday at Ball State. He set a season best in the 500 free on Saturday.
