CHARLESTON, Ill. – #Brad Peters# from men’s soccer and #Carrie Riordan# from women’s golf have been named the Eastern Illinois student-athletes of the month for September 2008.  Each month during the school year one male and one female student-athlete are recognized for their outstanding performance in their sport.
 
Peters, a senior forward from St. Peters, Mo., has helped the Panthers open the season with a 5-2-1 record including a No. 9 ranking in the NSCAA Midwest ranking.  He has scored 7 goals to rank 11th nationally in goals scored while his 17 points this season rank 7th in the nation.  During the month Peters moved into 9th on the Panthers career goals scored list and 10th on the career points chart.  
 
Riordan, a senior from Spring Valley, Ill., earns her second Athlete of the Month award after helping the Panthers to a tournament victory at Chicago State and a second place team finish at Western Illinois.  She has a stroke average of 75 this season placing second at the CSU event and 3rd at the WIU event.
