Matt Borens from baseball and Hanna Mennenga from softball have been named the EIU student-athletes of the week.

Borens pitched a complete game Sunday as EIU beat Southeast Missouri to win the weekend OVC series. Borens struck out seven and allowed just one earned run. He scattered seven hits, three in the final inning. He was named the OVC Pitcher of the Week.

Mennenga set the Panthers single season strike out record with 16 K's in Saturday's win over Jacksonville State. She added 12 more on Sunday in a win over Tennessee Tech as the Panthers remain in first place in the OVC race. She has 265 strike outs this season.
