EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Evansville got two goals from Kaitlin Oldfield to defeat Eastern Illinois women's soccer, 2-0, in the Panthers' nonconference finale Wednesday evening at McCutchan Stadium.

After also losing in 2-0 fashion at Illinois State Sept. 18, EIU (4-4-4) was on the downside of the same final score in both of its road trips to Missouri Valley Conference opponents this season. Coincidentally, Illinois State and Evansville (4-6) shared the 2008 MVC regular-season title.

Oldfield has accounted for each of her team's last three goals, scoring the game-winner in the 88th minute Sunday against Drake. She scored in the 25th and 78th minutes on this night.

Jenny Williams made her third consecutive start in goal for EIU and finished with six saves.

Eastern enjoyed a 16-12 edge in the shot count but was limited to one corner kick opportunity. Ten of EIU's shots came in the second half.

The Panthers were credited with three shots in a span of two and a half minutes midway through the second half, but UE goalkeeper Theresa Bagby made saves on scoring attempts by Kaitlin Sullivan and Ashley Streid. Evansville added its insurance goal seven minutes later. Bagby finished with seven saves.

Oldfield scored both goals from point-blank range, finishing off a chance from the right side in the first half and tapping a rebound following a Kristen Davis shot in the second half.

Sam Balek, Hillary Blake, Danielle Flynn, Elise Farrelly and Kristin Germann went the distance among the EIU field players. Laura Ridolfi made her first start of the season. Ashley Eck logged 40 minutes to lead the reserves.

The Panthers return to action Sunday when they host Austin Peay at 2:30 p.m.
