VALPARAISO, Ind. - Eastern Illinois men's soccer was limited to just one shot on goal on Wednesday night as the Panthers lost on the road at Valparaiso, 2-0. It was the third straight match EIU was shutout.

Jerry Maddi registered the one shot on goal for the Panthers who fell to 4-11-1 on the season. EIU will host Drake on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the Panthers final regular-season match as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. EIU will need to win that match and needs a loss or tie by Evansville to advance to the MVC Tournament.

Valparaiso improved to 8-8-2 on the season as they scored midway through each half. Chadd Sult scored the first Crusaders goal in the 27th minute with a 10-yard volley off a corner kick by Charles Barden.

Guy Shabtay added an insurance goal in the 64th minute on a free kick from 25-yards out that went in by the near post between the Panthers defensive wall.

Sean Molony made four saves with 90 minutes in goal. Kyle Zobeck made a save on the lone Panthers shot on goal.
