CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois bid to make the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in its final season in the league fell short with a 2-1 loss to Drake on Saturday afternoon at Lakeside Field.

The Panthers end the season at 4-12-1, 1-5-1 in the MVC.  EIU honored its four seniors prior to the match with the Bulldogs.  

Michael Thaden put Drake on the scorebard in the early minutes as he scored in the 8th minute.

EIU was able to even the score just before halftime as senior Alex Harrison found the back of the net just two minutes before the half.  Ryan Child was credited with the assist.

Michael Noonan gave the Bulldogs the final lead in the 69th minute off an assist from Thomas Ostrander.

EIU senior goalkeeper Sean Molony finished with four saves.  Drake had two goalkeepers split time with Rich Gallagher closing out the final 45 minutes with three saves.

The Bulldogs improved to 8-7-2 despite EIU holding a 12-4 shot advantage in the second half.
