CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Thursday's Eastern Illinois home softball single game versus instate foe SIU-Edwardsville has been postponed, due to expected heavy rain showers in the east central Illinois area.

EIU head coach Kim Schuette is in the works to try and reschedule the game with the Cougars, who will officially join the Ohio Valley Conference next season.

Eastern will now prepare for this weekend's three-game home league series with Tennessee Tech, which will feature a double-header on Saturday and a single-game on Sunday afternoon, with first pitches set for 1/3 pm and noon, respectively.

The Panthers are in the midst of a four-game winning streak after they swept OVC power Jacksonville State on the road last weekend to open conference play and took two straight games off visiting IUPUI at yesterday's Williams Field home openers.
