Eastern Illinois softball was held to three hits on Friday as the Panthers lost to host and No. 13 ranked Oklahoma State, 16-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Stillwater, Okla.
Lizzie Stiverson had a single in the third while
Mo Hance ripped a double to left field in the fourth.Â
Viola Smith collected the final EIU hit in the fifth.
Karli Godwin homered in the first inning to spark a five run first inning for the Cowgirls. Tia Warsop added a bases loaded walk before OSU tacked on three unearned runs in the inning.
RyLee Crandall (7-6) picked up the win for OSU pitching the final three innings in relief as the Cowgirls improved to 39-15 overall and will face Stanford in the winner's bracket game on Saturday.
EIU fell to 36-22 and will face Princeton on Saturday in an elimination game at 2:30 pm.Â
Karlie McKenzie (13-10) suffered the loss for the Panthers.
Godwin, Rosie Davis and Amanda Hasler all had three hits to lead OSU.
