The Eastern Illinois women's soccer team hits the road for its final Ohio Valley Conference road swing of the season, taking on Murray State on Friday, Oct. 21 and Austin Peay on Sunday, Oct. 23. EIU is 5-8-2 on the year and 4-2 in OVC play while Murray State is 4-7-3 (1-2-2 OVC) and Austin Peay is 7-6-1 (1-3-1 OVC).
AGAINST MURRAY STATE
EIU has a 6-3-4 advantage in the all-time series history with Murray State. The Panthers are 3-2-2 in matches played in Kentucky and are looking for their first win in Murray since a 2-1 victory on Nov. 6, 2007. Six of the 13 matches played between the two squads have gone into overtime.
EIU head coach Summer Perala is 0-1-1 in her career against the Racers. Last season, the two teams played to a scoreless draw in Charleston on Oct. 24.
AGAINST AUSTIN PEAY
EIU leads the all-time series with Austin Peay with a 6-1-2 record. The Panthers are 2-1-2 when playing in Clarksville, Tenn., and are looking for their first road win since a 2-0 victory on Sept. 24, 2004. EIU has only surrendered one goal in the nine meetings between the two teams, outscoring the Lady Govs, 15-1, in those matches.
Panther head coach Summer Perala is 1-1 in her career against Austin Peay. EIU dropped last year's contest, 1-0, on Sept. 24 in Tennessee.
BLAKE NAMED OVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior
Jessica Blake was selected as the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week following her performances last weekend against Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State.
The senior midfielder scored the game-winning goal in EIU's 2-0 win over Morehead State on Sunday, Oct. 16. The goal was the first of the season for Blake and her second career goal with the Panthers. The Naperville, Ill., native started both matches last weekend, logging 153 minutes.
PANTHER NOTES
- In OVC matches only, EIU has only allowed two goals while posting a 0.33 goals against average, the best goals against average in the conference.
- Redshirt-sophomore
Jessica Taldone has a 0.40 goals against average in OVC matches only, the best mark of any goalkeeper in the conference. The Crystal Lake, Ill., native also has 43 saves and three shutouts in OVC action.
- EIU has only allowed two goals through six OVC matches, the fewest of any team in the conference.
- Junior
Kristin Germann leads the Panthers with 12 points as the forward has a team high five goals to go along with two assists. The Carbondale, Ill., native ranks eighth among OVC active career leaders in goals (14) and seventh in points (34).

Sam Balek has played in 6,753 minutes throughout her career, the most minutes in school history. Classmates
