Eastern Illinois women's soccer season came to an end on Sunday afternoon with an OVC Tournament quarterfinal loss to Southern Indiana.

The Panthers lost 3-0 to end the year at 8-8-3 overall.  It is the first .500 or better season record for the Panthers since the 2006 season and first time EIU won eight or more matches since the 2007 campaign.

USI improved to 9-7-4 on the year and will face No. 1 seed Tennessee Tech in the semifinals on Thursday.

Charli Grafton scored what proved to be the match winner in the 27th minute as she headed home a ball sent into the goalbox by Emma Thurston off a free kick from the corner.

USI scored 30 seconds later as EIU turned the ball over deep in its own zone with Peyton Murphy scoring the first of her two goals in the match.   She added a third in the 51st minute.

EIU had 12 total shots in the match but only registered three on goal.
Alex Tetteh had four total shots with two on goal.
Kate Germano had the other shot on goal.

The Panthers had three first team All-OVC selections named earlier this week in Tetteh,
Colleen Bauer and
Ella Kratochvil.
Camylle Graves was named to the OVC All-Newcomer Team.

Kratochvil earned OVC Goalkeeper of the Year honors while Graves was named the OVC co-Freshman of the Year.
