The Racers then shot 60 percent from 3-point range in the first half and 55 percent from beyond the arc for the game as they won 73-40. It was the first time EIU had been held to 40 points or less since Nov. 19, 2005 when the Panthers lost 80-35 at Xavier in Mike Miller's first game as head coach. EIU shot 27 percent for the game as they fell to 5-1 at home.
Jeremy Granger was the lone EIU player in double figures with 12 points.

Murray State was red hot from the floor on Friday night, unfortunately Eastern Illinois was not as the Panthers finished the game shooting 27.1 percent. The last time EIU shot 27 percent was in last year's home loss to Ball State in which they made 18-of-65 shots. EIU made only 13 shots against Murray State but was bolstered by a 12-of-15 night from the free throw line. The last time EIU made 13 or fewer field goals in a game was Nov. 19, 2005 when EIU made only nine field goals while scoring 35 points at Xavier.
