Senior day for Eastern Illinois women's soccer players Kristin Germann, Jessie Morgan, Ashley Streid and Jessica Taldone is slated for Friday, Oct. 26 against Ohio Valley Conference newcomer Belmont. EIU is 5-12-1 (3-5-1 OVC) while Belmont enters the contest with a 7-7-2 (3-3-2 OVC) record.
 
BELMONT SERIES HISTORY

The Panthers and Bruins are tied at 1-1 in the all-time series history. EIU defeated Belmont, 1-0, in the first meeting between the two schools on Sept. 10, 2010 behind a penalty kick by then-sophomore Kristin Germann. The Bruins defeated the Panthers by the same score with a penalty kick on Aug. 26 last season in Nashville, Tenn. Panther head coach Summer Perala is 1-1 all-time against the Bruins.
                                                       
SENIOR RECOGNITION

Eastern Illinois will recognize the four members of its senior class prior to the start of the match with Belmont. Listed below are the bios of EIU's four seniors.
 
#23 Kristin Germann is a senior from Carbondale, Ill. She has played in 78 matches throughout her Panther career while making 77 starts. The three-time all-conference performer has scored 20 goals in her career to go along with seven assists. Her 20 career goals currently ranks seventh all-time in EIU history. This season, Germann has paced the Panther offense with a team-high six goals in addition to one assist.
 
# 15 Jessie Morgan is a senior from Aurora, Ill. She has played in 70 career matches, making 32 starts. The forward has scored three goals in her playing career to go along with four assists. This season, Morgan has played in all 18 matches while scoring one goal and adding one assist.
 
#3 Ashley Streid is a senior from Granite City, Ill. She has played in 76 matches throughout her career while making 67 starts. Streid has scored 23 points her career, including eight goals and seven assists. Of her eight goals, six have been game winners to rank her seventh all-time in EIU history in game-winning goals. This season, the defender has tallied one goal and three assists.

#1 Jessica Taldone is a senior from Crystal Lake, Ill. She has played in 39 career matches between the pipes for the Panthers. Taldone has made 198 saves her career, the seventh most in school history. She also has posted five shutouts in her career while logging nearly 3,000 minutes in goal.  
 
PANTHER NOTES

• The Panthers 1-1 tie at Morehead State on Oct. 19 was EIU's first tie of the season. EIU has taken six matches into overtime this season with a 25-18-29 all-time record when playing into overtime, including a 5-6-13 record under head coach Summer Perala.
 
• The Panthers are 96-43-15 all-time when playing at Lakeside Field. Under head coach Summer Perala, the Panthers are 16-11-2 overall and 9-4-3 in OVC action when playing in Charleston.
 
• EIU has an all-time record of 11-4-2 when playing in regular-season home finales. The Panthers dropped last season's senior day, 1-0, against SIU Edwardsville on Oct. 30.
 
• Senior Kristin Germann netted her team-leading sixth goal of the year at Morehead State. She now has 20 career goals, the seventh most in Panther history.
 
• Sophomore Brooke Sill scored her third goal the season in the Panthers 2-1 loss at Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 21. Sill now ranks second on the squad in goals with three.
 
• Seniors Kristin Germann and Ashley Streid both have six career game-winning goals, tied for the seventh most in Panther history with Trisha Walters (2003-06) and Diane Markus (1995-98).
 
• The Panthers will look to advance to their conference-leading 14th consecutive OVC Tournament on Nov. 1-4. EIU needs to defeat Belmont in addition to a few other scenarios playing out to obtain a spot in the tournament.
 
PANTHERS LOOK TO BUILD ON TRADITION

The Panther women's soccer looks to continue on its rich tradition this fall, highlighted by a total of seven OVC titles – the most of any team in the conference. EIU has also advanced to a conference-best four NCAA Tournaments since the OVC began sponsoring women's soccer in 1998.
 
The Panthers have a produced a conference-best, five “Players of the Year” in addition to having three players earn “Freshman of the Year” accolades. As previously mentioned, the Panthers have finished lower than fifth in the final conference standings only five times (through 14 years).
