The Panther women's soccer team plays the first of five consecutive road matches at Butler (3-3-1) on Friday, Sept. 14 before traveling to Drake (6-2) on Sunday, Sept. 16.
BUTLER SERIES HISTORY
The Panthers are 0-1 in the all-time series with Butler. EIU dropped the lone match between the two schools at Lakeside Field last season (Sept. 4) by a score of 3-2.
Kristin Germann scored two, first-half goals to put the Panthers up 2-0 heading into intermission before the Bulldogs tallied three, second-half goals for the comeback victory.
DRAKE SERIES HISTORY
EIU and Drake will meet for the first time on the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 16. The Panthers have already faced three teams from the Missouri Valley Conference this season, posting a 1-2 record in those contests. The Panthers lone win over an MVC foe came at Evansville, 2-1, on Friday, Sept. 7.
PANTHER NOTES
• Sophomore
Madison Carter scored her first career goal in the Panthers 2-1 win at Evansville on Friday, Sept. 7. The Lawrenceburg, Ky., native has played in six matches this season while logging 127 minutes of action.
• Sophomore
Allie Lakie currently leads the Panthers with three assists on the year. She is also tied for first in the OVC in assists.

Brooke Sill netted her first goal of the year in the Panthers 2-1 win at Evansville on Sept. 7. The sophomore midfielder has played in seven matches with five starts this season.
• The Panthers earned their first win at Evansville (entered the contest with a 0-6-1 road record) on Sept. 7 and improved to 4-8-2 in the all-time series. EIU head coach Summer Perala
improved to 2-1 against the Purple Aces.
• EIU will play its next five matches on the road, concluding its non-conference schedule at Butler (Sept. 14) and Drake (Sept. 16). The Panthers open OVC play at SIU Edwardsville on Sept. 23 before ending the road trip at Jacksonville State (Sept. 26) and Tennessee Tech (Sept. 30).
• The Panthers rank second in the OVC in saves with 46. Redshirt-junior
Jessica Taldone also ranks second in the conference in saves with 44, averaging 6.29 saves per match.
PANTHERS LOOK TO BUILD ON TRADITION
The Panther women's soccer looks to continue on its rich tradition this fall, highlighted by a total of seven OVC titles – the most of any team in the conference. EIU has also advanced to a conference-best four NCAA Tournaments since the OVC began sponsoring women's soccer in 1998.
The Panthers have a produced a conference-best, five “Players of the Year” in addition to having three players earn “Freshman of the Year” accolades. As previously mentioned, the Panthers have finished lower than fifth in the final conference standings only five times (through 14 years).
