CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Panther women's soccer team remained undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference action on Friday afternoon, defeating Morehead State, 1-0, at Lakeside Field.
EIU has started conference play with a 3-0 start for the first time since the 2000 season.
In the 83rd minute, Meagan Radloff beat the Morehead State goalkeeper to a free ball and knocked in the game-winning goal from 20 yards out. The junior midfielder now has a team-leading three goals on the season.
Cortney Jerzy (3-3) earned the win in goal, making nine saves and posting her second shutout of the year. She now has a 0.66 goals against average in conference action.
The Eagles (2-8-1, 1-1 OVC) took 11 more shots (18-7) than the Panthers and had two more corner kicks (3-1). Morehead State also committed three more fouls (11-8) in the match.
Hannah Miller paced the Panthers with three shots while Radloff added two shots (one on goal). Five Eagles had multiple shots in the match, led by Angela Black who had three shots (two on goal).
Elizabeth Floyd (2-2) took the loss in goal for Morehead State, surrendering one goal and making one save.
The Panthers return to action on Sunday, Oct. 6 as they play host to Eastern Kentucky at 1 p.m.
