CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Panther women's soccer team was defeated, 2-1, by SIU Edwardsville on Sunday afternoon in the team's senior day contest. EIU finishes regular-season action with a 6-13 overall record and a 6-4 mark in Ohio Valley Conference action.

Kayla Delgado broke open a scoreless match in the 48th minute, scoring from five yards out for her ninth goal of the season to give the Cougars (12-4-3, 6-3-1 OVC) a 1-0 advantage. Cassidy Sherman made the score 2-0 in favor of SIUE in the 60th minute on a play set up by Delgado.

Meagan Radloff scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 77th minute to get the Panthers within one (2-1). The junior midfielder scored from six yards out in front of the net off a pass from Hannah Miller.

SIUE took six more shots (14-8) than EIU and had three more corner kicks (6-3). EIU committed three more fouls (13-10) in the loss.

Radloff paced the Panther offense with four shots (one on goal) while Delgado led the Cougars with six shots (four on goal).

Cortney Jerzy (6-7) took the loss in goal for EIU, making five saves and allowing two goals. Jennifer Pelley (12-4-3) earned the win for SIUE as the sophomore goalkeeper allowed one goal and made one save.

EIU returns to action in the OVC Tournament in Martin, Tenn., on Nov. 7-10. The Panthers earned the No. 5 seed and will play No. 4 seed SIUE at 4 p.m. on Thursday to start tournament action.Â
