Women's Soccer Falls At Home To Loyola

Panthers return to action on Friday hosting Drake at 3:30 p.m.

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Loyola-Chicago scored two goals midway through the first half as the Ramblers beat Eastern Illinois, 3-0, on Sunday morning at Lakeside Field in Charleston. The Panthers return to action on Friday hosting Drake at 3:30 p.m.

Samantha Gage picked up two of the Loyola goals six minutes apart in the first half. Her first score came in the 20th minute on a header on a corner kick by Shelby Koch. Gage finished off a cross in the 26th minute. Tricia Stonebraker had the assist on the second Gage goal at Loyola improved to 2-3-3 on the season.

EIU has six shots on goal with two each by Madison Carter, Meagan Radloff and Hannah Miller. Loyola goalkeeper Monica Gonyo made all six stops.

Cortney Jerzy started the game in goal for EIU. Kylie Morgan came off the bench in the second half making one save. Jerzy had two saves but allowed all three Loyola goals as the Panthers fell to 0-7 on the year.

Kara Ruffolo had the final goal for Loyola beating Jerzy to a free ball and driving it home in the 40th minute.
