2015 EIU Baseball Schedule |
Eastern Illinois baseball has released its 2015 schedule which will open in late February with games against Central Arkansas and Memphis in Conway, Ark. The Panthers home opener will be Friday, March 6 against Austin Peay for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series.
EIU will play the second weekend of the year on the road with a series at Kansas State. The Panthers will play the first of three NCAA Tournament teams from last year on March 3 with a game at Indiana State.
EIU will play a series at Memphis to start spring break on March 13 with a mid-week game at Mississippi State and an OVC series at Jacksonville State during the week. Both MSU and JSU made the NCAA Tournament last season.
After spring break EIU returns home to Coaches Stadium for a five game homestand with single games against Southern Illinois and Illinois State sandwiched around an OVC series with Murray State. The five games begin on March 24.
The other OVC home series for the Panthers this year include Southeast Missouri, Eastern Kentucky and UT Martin. The Panthers have road OVC series at Tennessee Tech, Belmont, Morehead State and SIU Edwardsville.
Home non-conference opponents this season include Illinois at Coaches Stadium on April 7 followed by Indiana State on April 8. EIU will also host Illinois College, Benedictine University and Saint Louis.
