Exhibition Goals: Eastern Illinois scored a goal in each of its two exhibition matches this season.  In the 1-1 tie with Saint Xavier, Jake Brillhart had a goal in the first five minutes.  EIU picked up a 1-0 win over Illinois-Springfield last week with Spencer Filosa scoring the goal.

Goalkeeper Time: Eastern Illinois has played two exhibition matches heading into the regular season with Ben Feltes and Mike Novotny both playing a half in each match.  Feltes had a shutout in both halves he played this season.  Novotny allowed a late goal against Saint Xavier.

Senior Leadership: Eastern Illinois will have good senior leadership as they open the 2014 season.  The Panthers roster has five seniors on the squad.  The senior class includes Tayron Martin, Will Butler, Jake Brillhart, Colin Rook and Chris Boswell.

Head Coach: Eastern Illinois will be under the direction of Mark Hansen who takes over for his first season as the Panthers head coach.  A former goalkeeper for EIU, Hansen graduated from EIU in 2009.  He served as the goalkeepers coach at EIU for the past five years before being named the head coach in May of 2014

Series: Eastern Illinois will be facing Saint Francis (Ill.) for the first time in school history when the two schools open the year on Saturday at 2 p.m.  The Panthers will host Lipscomb on Monday as the two schools will be meeting for the fifth time.  EIU leads the all-time series 3-1.
