Men's Soccer Shutout At Central Arkansas

Panthers had nine shots on goal, three by Jake Brillhart

CONWAY, Ark. – Eastern Illinois men's soccer failed to score in a game for the first time this season as the Panthers were shutout, 2-0, on Friday evening at Central Arkansas.
 
EIU fell to 1-2 on the year and will host Culver-Stockton on Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Lakeside Field.  UCA improved to 2-0.
 
Wes Carson scored what proved to be the game winner in the first 15 minutes of the game as he drove home a ball to the left side of the net from 18 yards out.
 
The Bears added an insurance goal in the 34th minute as Pepe San Roman found a loose ball following a deflection in the box and scored.
 
EIU had nine shots on goal during the contest with Jake Brillhart sending three shots on target.  UCA goalkeeper Harrison Veith turned away all nine Panther shots.
 
UCA had only four shots on goal but made most of those chances.  EIU goalkeeper Ben Feltes had two saves.
