GAME 20Eastern Illinois had its nine game winning streak snapped on Thursday night in front of a standing room only crowd as Murray State beat EIU in a battle of the last two unbeaten Ohio Valley Conference teams. The Panthers fell to 12-7 overall, 6-1 in the OVC. Austin Peay enters the weekend having lost two straight OVC games to Belmont and SIU Edwardsville. The Governors are 6-13 overall, 1-4 in the OVC.
OLIVIER POSTS THIRD DOUBLE-DOUBLE THIS YEARChris Olivier posted his third double-double of the season on Thursday against Murray State. The junior forward finished with 17 points and ten rebounds. Olivier's previous double-doubles this season have come at UC Davis (12 pts, 10 reb) and against Jacksonville State (20 pts, 10 reb). Olivier currently leads the Panthers in both scoring and rebounding with 12.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Olivier is 9th in the OVC in field goal percentage at 52.4 percent.
ANDERSON MATCHES SEASON HIGHTrae Anderson scored 16 points against Murray State marking the third time this season the junior college transfer has scored 16 points in a game. His other two 16-point games were against UC Davis and versus Southern University in the Emerald Coast Classic. Anderson missed the first three OVC games due to injury and has returned to score in double figures in three of four conference contests. He is averaging 12.3 points and shooting 65 percent from the floor in OVC action.
