GAME 16
Eastern Illinois won its sixth straight game on Wednesday night improving to 9-6 overall, 3-0 in the OVC.  It marked the first time in school history that the Panthers have started an OVC season with a 3-0 record.  The Panthers will be hosting Belmont which improved to 2-0 in the OVC following a win over SIU Edwardsville on Wednesday.  EIU and Belmont enter the game as current leaders of the OVC East and West Divisions and two of four teams still undefeated in OVC action.  The Panthers have won four straight at Lantz Arena.

PIPER POSTS SECOND DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Senior Josh Piper posted his second career double-double in Wednesday's win over Tennessee State.  Piper scored a season high 11 points while pulling down ten rebounds.  His previous double-double was his sophomore year when he had 16 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Houston Baptist.  In the win at TSU, Piper moved into a tie for 16th on the EIU career 3-pointers list with 87, tying former EIU All-American Jay Taylor.

3-0 IN THE OVC
Eastern Illinois improved to 3-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference for the first time in the schools 19-year membership in the league.  EIU had one previous 2-0 start prior to this season, that one coming during the 1997-98 season.  EIU's best start to a conference season as an NCAA Division I member is 4-0 which occurred twice when the Panthers were members of the Mid-Continent Conference.  EIU started the 1985-86 season at 4-0 and the 1982-83 season at 4-0.
