GAME 3
Eastern Illinois will play its home opener on Saturday night hosting in-state rival Western Illinois.  The Panthers opened with two games on the road falling at No. 15 Indiana on Nov. 13 and at Ball State on Monday.  It was the first time since the 2006-07 season that EIU opened a season with two or more games on the road.  Western Illinois comes into the game at 3-0, their best start since the 1989-90 season.  This will be the first game of a home and home series between the two schools.  EIU returns to Macomb on Dec. 12. 

RILEY LEADS PANTHERS
Junior college transfer A.J. Riley has stepped right in this season for the Panthers leading EIU in scoring in the first two games.  At No. 15 Indiana Riley scored 13 points going 6-of-6 at the free throw line.   On Monday at Ball State he continued to produce finishing with 21 points.  Riley again got to the free throw line finishing 6-of-8 at the stripe.  In the Panthers lone exhibition game against Saint Francis, the Peoria, Ill., product had 13 points with a 3-for-3 night on free throws. 

PANTHERS GET TO THE LINE
Eastern Illinois was able to get to the free throw and convert at Ball State going 19-of-27 at the line.  Trae Anderson scored eight of his 20 points at the free throw line going 8-of-11.  A.J. Riley was 6-of-8 with Patrick Muldoon and Cornell Johnston also scoring at the free throw line.  In the season opener at No. 15 Indiana EIU made 19 trips to the free throw line knocking down 11.  For the season EIU is shooting 65.2 percent from the line.  Last year EIU shot 65.2 percent as a team.
