ATHENS, Ga. – Eastern Illinois allowed six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Panthers lost the final weekend game of the season opening series at Georgia, 11-1, on Sunday afternoon.
EIU dropped to 0-3 on the season while Georgia improved to 3-0.
Stephen Wrenn tripled to open the bottom of the first for UGA as they plated runs in the first and third inning.  The Bulldogs then took advantage of an error early in the fifth and blew the game open with six runs.  EIU starter 
Garrison Stenger (0-1) suffered the loss.
EIU put together some late offense as the Panthers scored in the ninth.  
Demetre Taylor tripled and came around to score on a base hit by 
Brant Valach.  Taylor was 2-of-4 as the Panthers were limited to five hits.
David Sosebee (1-0) picked up the win for Georgia.  Wrenn was 3-of-5 with two runs scored.
