WATERLOO, Iowa – Northern Iowa doubled Eastern Illinois shots on goal total on Sunday afternoon as UNI beat EIU 3-0.
EIU fell to 0-3-1 on the season and will return home to host IPFW on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Lakeside Field. UNI improved to 2-0-2.
Eastern Illinois played two freshman goalkeepers as
Erin Morgan and
Liz Carmody both played one half in goal for EIU. The pair finished with three combined saves. UNI also played two goalkeepers with Whitney Blunt and Maddie Lesjak combining for three saves.
UNI scored in the 35th minute as Katie Witt connected on a throw-in from Morgan Teel.
UNI added two second half goals with Annie Dale finding the back of the net in the 47th minute and Maddie Welch scoring in the final two minutes of the match.
EIU's three shots on goal were recorded by

Emily Wolf and
Brooke Munroe.
