GAME 20Eastern Illinois continues its Ohio Valley Conference weekend road swing on Saturday at Austin Peay. The Panthers had two big scoring droughts on Thursday night at Murray State as they fell to 6-13 overall, 3-4 in the OVC. EIU is 1-8 on the road this season including 1-3 in OVC road games. Austin Peay improved to 9-12 overall, 2-4 in the OVC with an overtime win against SIU Edwardsville on Thursday.
BLACKMON SOLID OFF THE BENCH Freshman
Marshawn Blackmon was solid off the bench for EIU on Thursday night at Murray State scoring a season high nine points to go with seven rebounds. Blackmon was 4-of-4 from the floor as he is shooting 61.7 percent for the season. He has 11 games this season where he has shot 60 percent or better in a game. The seven rebounds tied his season high set previously against Tennessee State. Blackmon had three offensive boards at Murray State giving him 28 for the year.
RILEY SCORES POINTS AT THE LINEA.J. Riley had his fourth straight game in double figures on Thursday night leading EIU with 11 points at Murray State. Riley did most of his damage at the free throw line going 9-of-11. It was the third time this season that Riley has had double figure free throw attempts in a game. Over the last two games Riley is 16-for-19 from the free throw line increasing his season percentage to 73.4 percent, 15th in the OVC. Over the last four games Riley is averaging 16.5 points per game. He has four 20+ plus point games this season with a high of 25 vs. Green Bay.
