GAME WINNER:Â Â Junior
Emma Scaro scored the game winning goal on Sunday against Austin Peay. It was Scaro's second goal this season as she is the team leader in goals (2), assists (2) and points (6) this season.  Both of Scaro's goals have been game winners against Marian University and Austin Peay. The other three game winning goals this season have come from

CLOSING ON THE ROAD:  Eastern Illinois will play its final three regular season matches on the road after closing its home schedule last Sunday with a 1-0 win over Austin Peay. EIU will play this weekend at Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee Tech before closing out the regular season next Thursday, Oct. 27 at SIU Edwardsville. EIU is 1-5 on the road this season with the lone win an overtime victory at Chicago State.
TETEAK RECORD BOOK:Â Â Freshman goalkeeper
Sara Teteak had her fourth shutout of the season on Sunday as the Panthers blanked Austin Peay 1-0. Teteak moved into a tie for ninth on the EIU single season record book list with that fourth shutout. In addition Teteak climbed into the EIU single season top ten in several other categories over the weekend as she now ranks tied for 10th in matches started in a season and ninth in saves for a season with 95. She currently has a 1.26 goals against average.
MULTIPLE PLAYERS WITH ASSISTS: Freshman
Malorie Henderlong became the ninth different player to be credited with an assist this season as she sent in the cross that resulted in
Emma Scaro's game winning goal against Austin Peay. Henderlong was the third freshmen this season with an assist joining
Henar Urteaga and
Sarah DeWolf. Both Urteaga and DeWolf are tied for second on the team in points with three (one goal and one assist).Â
Kayla Stolfa is also tied for second in points with three. Â

YOUTH MOVEMENT: Eastern Illinois continues to go through a youth movement on the field. This season the Panthers have had 16 underclassmen see playing time on the field. Of those 16 players, nine are true freshmen. EIU currently has two seniors that have seen significant playing time this season with forward

Emily Wolf.Â

WIN TOTAL: Eastern Illinois won its fifth match of the season last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Austin Peay. The Panthers five wins are the most for the program since winning six matches during the 2013 season.Â
SERIES RECORD: Eastern Illinois and Eastern Kentucky will be meeting for the 13th time on the soccer pitch on Friday with the Panthers holding a 7-5 all-time series advantage. EKU has won two straight in the series including a 3-0 victory last season in Charleston. EIU and Tennessee Tech will be meeting for the 26th time on Sunday to close out the Panthers road trip. EIU leads the all-time series 17-3-5 including a 1-0 win over the Golden Eagles last season at home.
HEAD COACH:Â
Kiki Lara is in his first season as the EIU women's soccer head coach. Lara was hired as the men's soccer head coach in 2015 and was promoted to director of soccer overseeing both programs in the spring of 2016. Lara is a 2003 graduate of Incarnate Word and played in the USL First Division for five seasons. He came to EIU following a stint as the assistant men's soccer coach at Dayton.
