GAME 27Eastern Illinois gets set for its final regular season road trip this season with games at UT Martin on Thursday and Southeast Missouri on Saturday. The Panthers dropped to third in the OVC West Division race with Saturday's home loss to SIU Edwardsville. EIU trails Murray State by one game and UT Martin by a half game. EIU is 11-15 on the season, 7-6 in the OVC. The Panthers are trying to get to .500 or better in the league for the second straight year. If that happens it would be the first time since 1996-97 / 1997-98 (EIU's first and second year's in the OVC) that EIU has posted a .500 or better OVC record in back-to-back years. UT Martin has won five straight since losing at EIU on Jan. 28. The Skyhawks are 15-12 overall, 7-5 in the OVC.
ANDERSON JUST MISSES 30 Senior
Trae Anderson just missed the 30 point mark on Saturday finishing with 29 points against SIU Edwardsville. Earlier this season Anderson scored a career high 31 points at Marshall. He currently ranks ninth in the OVC in scoring at 14.7 points per game. Anderson has 40 career double figure games and six games with 20 or more points this season. He has increased his scoring in OVC games to 15.4 ppg.
CHASING SCHOOL 3-POINT RECORDEarlier this season
Casey Teson set the EIU freshman record for 3-pointers made in a game knocking down six against Indiana State. As the season draws to a close Teson needs fourteen 3-pointers to tie the EIU freshman single season record for 3-pointers set by Romain Martin - 68 in 2006-07. Teson has 54 3-pointers this season which ranks seventh in the OVC in 3-pointers made per game (first among OVC freshmen). He has made at least one 3-pointer in 17 straight games.
