PAPPAS GAME WINNER:  Freshman Rachel Pappas scored her first career goal on Sunday afternoon giving Eastern Illinois its first Ohio Valley Conference victory of the season.  Pappas found the net 1:09 into the overtime session for her first career points as a Panther.  For the season Pappas has appeared in eight matches with three total shots.

BALANCE ON GOALS:  Eastern Illinois continues to have balance on the offensive attack as Rachel Pappas became the eighth different player to score a goal this season.  Currently no Panther has more than one goal.  Pappas joined Emma Scaro, Kathleen MacKinnon and Hannah Heinz as EIU players with game winning goals this season.

PANTHERS CLOSING IN ON WIN TOTAL:  Eastern Illinois matched its win total from last season with Sunday's 1-0 win over UT Martin.  Last season the Panthers finished 4-13-2 going 2-7-1 in Ohio Valley Conference play.  EIU has eight matches remaining this season, all Ohio Valley Conference contests.  The top six teams in the OVC standings advance to the conference tournament.

ASSISTS LEADERS: Eastern Illinois had two players combine for the assist during a quick counter that set up Rachel Pappas game winner over UT Martin.  Brooke Greiner and Sarah DeWolf were both credited with the assist.  They became the seventh and eighth players this season to record an assist for the Panthers.  Emma Scaro is currently the only EIU player with multiple assists this year as she ranks seventh in the OVC with two assists.  Scaro is the team leader in points with four.

SECOND OT WIN: Sunday's overtime victory over UT Martin marked the second time this season that Eastern Illinois has picked up a win in overtime.  Earlier this year EIU scored in the first overtime session to beat Chicago State, 2-1.  Eastern Illinois had been 0-7-3 in overtime matches over the last two seasons.  Prior to this year, EIU's last OT victory was Sept. 27, 2013, a 1-0 OVC win over Belmont.

ANOTHER SHUTOUT FOR TETEAK:  Freshman goalkeeper Sara Teteak posted her third career shutout on Sunday as the Panthers beat UT Martin 1-0.  In that match Teteak turned away six Skyhawks shots.  For the season she has a 1.29 goals against average and 63 saves.  It was Teteak's third shutout in the last four contests as she has allowed only one goal in the last 367 minutes in net.  Last season EIU posted four shutouts going 2-0-2 in those contests.  This season EIU is 3-0 when keeping their opponent off the scoreboard

SERIES RECORD: Eastern Illinois and Jacksonville State will meet for the 15th time on Friday evening as the Panthers play their first road OVC match this year.  EIU leads the all-time series 8-4-2 with the teams playing to a 0-0 draw last year in Charleston.  On Sunday EIU and Belmont will be meeting for the seventh time on the pitch.  The all-time series is tied 3-3.  Belmont has won two straight in the series with 2-1 win last year in Nashville.

HEAD COACH: Kiki Lara is in his first season as the EIU women's soccer head coach.  Lara was hired as the men's soccer head coach in 2015 and was promoted to director of soccer overseeing both programs in the spring of 2016.  Lara is a 2003 graduate of Incarnate Word and played in the USL First Division for five seasons.  He came to EIU following a stint as the assistant men's soccer coach at Dayton.
