• Tuesday night's game was originally scheduled for a 6 p.m. start has now been moved up to start at 3 p.m.

Dougie Parks and Andrew Curran recorded one hit each in each of the three games at Samford this past weekend. Both players have reached base successfully in each of the Panthers last eight games. Curran currenlty has a five-game hitting streak, while Parks enters Tuesday night's game with a four-game hitting streak.

Brent Stephens had his best stretch of the season out of the bullpen this past week. The junior transfer appeared twice during the week and pitched 6.1 total innings. He was in complete control of the opposition as he allowed just three hits and three walks but struck out 10 batters. He limited his opponents to a .136 batting average against him. He threw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts at No. 26 Missouri last Tuesday and followed with an outing of 5.1 innings in the finale at Samford where he struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits.

Matt Albert  launched two home runs during the series opener at Samford this past weekend. Albert hit a lead-off solo home run in the top of the third and followed with a two-run shot in the top of the seventh. Albert became the first EIU player with two home runs in a single game since Demetre Taylor hit a pair of home runs at Tennessee Tech during the 2015 season. He currently leads the team with three round-trippers hit this season.

Brendon Allen will get the start on Tuesday at Alabama. The redshirt-senior will be making his fifth appearance and fourth start of the season.

• Eastern Illinois is playing its 111th season of intercollegiate baseball. EIU has an all-time record of 1,732 wins and 1,528 losses.  Head Coach Jason Anderson is in his 2nd season as the Panthers skipper after being hired to take on the role in the summer of 2015. Anderson picked up the first win of his coaching career with a 10-8 victory over No. 12 Arkansas in 12 innings on March 5, 2016.
