CHARLESTON, Ill.- Eastern Illinois men's soccer dropped their third straight match to Wright State Tuesday afternoon. The Raiders scored two second half goals securing the 2-0 win over the Panthers.

The teams fought evenly through the first half of play. EIU took four shots forcing visiting goalkeeper Joel Sundell to record two saves for the half. Wright State took five shots in the first half, but both teams entered the second half scoreless.

Five minutes into the second half the Raiders found the back of the net off AJ Paterson's shot. Paterson shot from the middle of the box off a pass from Brayden McNitt. The ball deflected off the defense and found the back of the net past goalkeeper Mike Novotny. Jacob McGrinder scored on a header for WSU in the 73rd minute. Florian Hoffman was credited the assist.

The Panthers were aggressive on the offensive end. They took a season high 11 shots against WSU with five of them on goal. Christian Sosnowski had two shots on goal while Federico Verlichi, Jonathon Huerta, and Kris Luke each had one shot on goal.

EIU will be at home again on Saturday Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. to face off against Omaha. The team will take a three match road trip following Saturday's match-up.
