NASHVILLE – Eastern Illinois women's soccer was limited to only one shot on goal Friday afternoon as the Panthers lost an Ohio Valley Conference match, 2-0, on the road at Belmont.
EIU dropped to 5-5-1 on the season, 0-2 in the OVC and will play at Austin Peay on Sunday. Belmont improved to 6-3-1, 2-1 in the OVC.
Belicia Mendiola provided the only goal the Bruins would need as she scored on a header in the 30th minute on a ball sent into the box by Addison Cartwright.
???????Mendiola added Belmont's insurance tally in the 86th minute as she tapped in a ball from Heather Ferrari passed from the 21 yard mark.
EIU had five total shots in the match and one shot on goal by
Pilar Barrio.Â

Henar Urteaga and
Haley Tausend had the other shots in the match for EIU.
\Lily Herman picked up the shutout win for Belmont. The Bruins had 27 total shots for the match and ten shots on goal.
