TULSA - Eastern Illinois traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a conference road match at Oral Roberts Saturday night. The Panthers and Golden Eagles played to a 1-1 draw. EIU improved to 3-7-4 overall and 1-0-2 in the Summit League. ORU improved to 6-4-3 overall and 0-1-2 in the Summit League.
ORU got on the board early in the first half as Tanguy Guerineau scored on a pass from Max Roetcisoender. Roetcisoender set up a corner kick for ORU around the six minute mark, which led to Guerineau's first goal of the season. The Panthers finished the first half with six of their seven shots on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net before halftime.
The Panthers responded with a goal of their own mid-way in the second half to tie the game up at 1-1. Alex Castaneda took a corner kick at the 75:25 minute mark where Toby Andrews would pass the ball to Shady Omar for the goal.
EIU finished with a season-high 19 shots with 14 on goal. Toby Andrews and David Camacho Jr. led the Panthers with three shots on goal each. Kris Luke took a game-high four total shots.
Jonathan Burke made four saves in goal for EIU. ORU's goalie Miles Motakef made 12 stops in goal.
EIU returns to action on Tuesday Oct. 23 at Milwaukee for a 6 pm road match.
