Bryce Dewberry was named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week following the Panthers win over UT Martin. Dewberry intercepted a pass on the final play of the third quarter and returned it 61 yards for a touchdown putting EIU up 21-14. The freshman finished with seven tackles and a half tackle for loss.

Nick Bruno knocked home the game winning 38-yard field goal in overtime as the Panthers beat UT Martin 24-21 to win the 101st EIU homecoming game. It was the first game winning field goal by an EIU kicker since Cameron Berra hit one in overtime to beat Southern Illinois in September of 2013.
• Eastern Illinois has now played 16 overtime games in school history including seven under current head coach
Kim Dameron. The Panthers are 10-6 in overtime games with a five game overtime win streak. Last season EIU was 3-0 in overtime including two double overtime wins.

Alexander Hollins caught his 13th touchdown pass of the season against UT Martin as the senior continues to lead the FCS in touchdown receptions. He has now caught at least one touchdown pass in six straight games. He is now tied for fourth on the EIU single season touchdown reception list and seventh on the OVC single season list.
• Eastern Illinois had four players record double figure tackles on Saturday against UT Martin as the Skyhawks ran 91 plays on offense.
Dytarious Johnson and
Joe Caputo both had 13 tackles on defense followed by
Edwyn Brown (11) and
Levi Watson (10).
THE SERIES
• Eastern Illinois and Eastern Kentucky will be meeting for the 26th time on Saturday. The two teams rank in the top seven all-time in FCS playoff appearances with a combined 37 appearances. EKU holds a 13-12 all-time series lead but the Panthers have won three straight in the series and five of the last six. EIU won 23-20 in overtime last season when
Bradley Dewberry intercepted a pass. The Panthers won in Richmond in 2016 with a 24-0 victory behind back-up quarterback Jared Pilson.
