EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Eastern Illinois women's soccer returned to the road on Sunday afternoon as the Panthers secured a big win in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 1-0 win at SIUE.
 
Pilar Barrio scored the game winner in the 71st minute for the Panthers as she had a quick one-touch on a ball passed into the box by Henar Urteaga.  
 
EIU improved to 4-6-4 overall, 3-2-2 in the OVC.  SIUE fell to 5-7 overall, 4-3 in the OVC.
 
The match had two lightning delays that impacted the flow of the match.
 
Sara Teteak posted her seventh shutout of the season and fifth in OVC play as the junior stopped seven Cougars shots on goal.  Becca Jostes had three of the seven shots on goal for SIUE.
 
EIU finished the match with five shots on goal with Itxaso Aguero posting two shots on goal for the Panthers. 
 
EIU returns to action on Thursday at 2 pm as they host Southeast Missouri in the Hope For Hannah Match.
