GAME 26
Eastern Illinois plays its final two Ohio Valley Conference road games this weekend as the Panthers travel to Southeast Missouri on Thursday and UT Martin on Saturday.  EIU currently sits in seventh place in the race to qualify for the OVC Tournament in Evansville.  The Panthers are 9-16 overall, 5-9 in the OVC.  EIU is 3-11 on the road this season but all three of those wins have come in OVC play.  Southeast Missouri is 12-15 overall, 6-8 in the OVC.  The Redhawks have won two straight, both on the road.

SMITH CONTINUES HOT SHOOTING
Freshman Mack Smith scored 28 points on Saturday against Austin Peay giving him eight straight games with double figure scoring.  During that eight game run Smith has averaged 19.6 points per game while shooting 51 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range.  He has won OVC Freshman of the Week honors two times in the last four weeks and set the EIU single game freshman scoring record with 31 points against Tennessee Tech.  Smith currently ranks 9th in the OVC in 3-pointers made with 40 and fourth in 3-pointers made in conference games (37).

TURNING SHOTS AWAY
Eastern Illinois has been turning shots away from the basket this season as the Panthers feature two of the top shot blockers in the OVC.  Aboubacar Diallo had five blocks on Saturday against Austin Peay, the second time this season he has blocked five Governors shots.  Diallo ranks third in the OVC with 38 blocks.  He moved into 10th on the EIU career list with 65 and ranks sixth on the EIU single season list.  Senior Muusa Dama had two blocks against APSU as he ranks 7th in the OVC with 28 blocks.  He is currently third on the EIU career blocks list with 89.  As a team EIU has blocked 108 shots to rank second in the OVC at 4.3 blocks per game.  The 108 blocks ranks fifth on the EIU single season team record book list.
