The series is set to begin Friday at 5 p.m., leading into Saturday's mid-series game at 1 p.m., and finally concluding the series will be a 12 p.m. showdown on Sunday.

The Panther record of 5-2 to start the season marks EIU's best start to a season since 2009.

Jimmy Huber leads Eastern Illinois in hitting leading into this weekend's series. Huber is batting .455 (10-for-22), with 11 total bases, 10 hits, five RBIs, five walks, four runs, and a double. Huber currently sits third in the Ohio Valley Conference with an on base percentage with .556.

The Eastern Illinois pitching staff had a dominant performance Tuesday evening to help secure Eastern Illinois fifth victory in a row. Newcomer Tyler Jones got the start on the hill for the Panthers. Jones picked up his first victory as a Panther tossing five shutout innings, surrendering three hits, and striking out four batters.

EIU will go with their sophomore starting pitcher Alex Stevenson in game one at Georgia State on Friday night. Carson Haws will get ball to start the second game of the series on Saturday afternoon. Beaman will look to close out the series for the Panthers in the series finale on Sunday.

Eastern Illinois is playing in its 112th season of intercollegiate baseball. EIU has an all-time record of 1,757 and 1,552 loses.  After the series against Georgia State the Panthers will travel to Columbia, Mo. to take on Missouri (Mar. 6).
