GAME 31
Eastern Illinois held on for a 73-71 win over Tennessee State in the opening round of the 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.  It was EIU's first OVC Tournament win since the 2015 OVC Tournament as the Panthers are now 7-13 all-time in the OVC Tournament.  EIU improved to 12-18 on the year.  EIU will face No. 3 seed Austin Peay on Thursday night.  The Governors were 17-13 on the year.

SERIES VS. AUSTIN PEAY
Austin Peay leads the all-time series between the two schools 31-17.  The Governors have won five straight in the series after sweeping both games this year.  This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools in OVC Tournament play.  EIU leads those games 2-1 including the 2001 OVC Tournament Championship win that sent EIU to its second NCAA Division I Tournament.

EIU QUICK HITTERS
• Montell Goodwin knocked down a pair of 3-pointers as he now has 139 career 3-pointers to rank 10th on the EIU career list.  Goodwin scored 20 points against Tennessee State for his 13th career game with 20 or more points.

• Ray Crossland scored in double figures for the fourth straight game finishing with 11 points against Tennessee State.  Crossland added seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals in the win.  The senior has eight steals in the last four games.

• Montell Goodwin and Mack Smith both earned All-Ohio Valley Conference honors earlier this week.  Goodwin was named to the All-OVC second team while Smith was named to the All-OVC Newcomer team.

• DeVantae' Price scored six points and pulled down a season high seven rebounds in the opening round win over Tennessee State.  Price has 13 rebounds in the last two games and went to the free throw line ten times on Wednesday night.
