Murray, Ky.- Eastern Illinois came up short in the series finale against Murray State Sunday afternoon. The Racers were able to shut out the Panthers 5-0.

Eastern Illinois dropped to 9-14 (1-5 OVC), while Murray State advanced to 14-11 (5-4 OVC).

Luke Brown got the start on the hill for the Racers to close the series. Brown was dominant through six innings allowing three hits, three walks, and striking out two batters. Brown picked up his first win of the season improving to 1-2.

The Panthers combined for a total four doubles in the series finale.Â

Jimmy Huber each had an extra base hit in todays game.

Murray State got on the board early in the first inning jumping out to a 2-0 lead. The Racers earned their first run of the game on a
Jimmy Govern error, which scored Ramsey Scott. Mike Farnell would drive in the second run in the inning for the racers with a single to right.

Carson Haws took the loss on the mound for the Panthers tossing 2.0 innings allowing three hits, three runs (two earned), three walks, and striking out two batters. Haws dropped to 1-3 on the season.

Turnock finished 2-for-4 with a double, and walk. Huber finished the afternoon 1-for-3 with a double and walk.

The Panthers will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to battle Saint Louis University on Tuesday (March 27).
