Due to inclement weather in the forecast for Thursday, Eastern Illinois and Tennessee Tech will now play a double-header on Friday.

The Eastern Illinois baseball team will play host to Tennessee Tech for a three-game OVC series Friday-Saturday. Tennessee Tech enters the weekend first in the OVC at 18-5/ 8-1 OVC.

The series is set to being Friday with a double-header starting at 11 a.m., and finally concluding the series will be a 1 p.m. showdown on Saturday.

Josh Turnock heads into the series against Tennessee Tech leading the Panthers offense. Turnock is currently hitting .405 (17-for-42) with 22 total bases, nine runs, six RBIs, four walks, two doubles, and a homerun.

Leading the Panthers in runs batted in are Hunter Morris and Dougie Parks who are both tied with 21 RBIs each. Both players have added plenty of power to the Panther lineup as they have combined for a total 10 homeruns on the season.

Parks currently holds the fourth spot in the OVC in doubles with nine so far this season. With his slugging percentage of .602 Parks currently ranks eighth in the OVC. In home runs Parks holds fifth in the OVC with six on the season.

Joseph Duncan's two triples on the season has the senior tied for first in the OVC. Duncan also holds eighth in the OVC for steal attempts with eight on the season.

Michael Stracevich has a total four saves on the season heading in the weekend series against Tennessee Tech. Starcevich's four saves currently marks second in the OVC for saves.

EIU will go with their junior starting pitcher Tyler Jones to kick off the double-header on Friday. Jake Haberer will get the ball to start the second game of the double-header. The Panthers have yet to announce who will get the call to close out the series on Saturday.

Eastern Illinois is playing in its 112th season of intercollegiate baseball. EIU has an all-time record of 1,761 and 1,564 loses. After their weekend series against Tennesse Tech the Panthers will host Illinois State on Tuesday (April 3rd).
