The Eastern Illinois baseball team will play host to Belmont for a three-game OVC series Friday-Sunday. Belmont enters the weekend fifth in the OVC at 13-19 (8-7 OVC).

The series is set to begin Friday with a double-header starting at 11 a.m., and finally concluding the series will be a 1 p.m. showdown on Sunday.

Ryan Knernschield enters the weekend currently leading the Panthers offense. Knernschield is batting .340 (17-for-50) with 20 total bases, four runs, four RBIs, three walks, and three doubles.

Dougie Parks currently leads the Panthers in home runs with eight on the season. Parks eight home runs currently has the senior ranked fifth in the OVC.

Joseph Duncan became the all-time leading Panther in steals with his 52nd stolen base against SEMO on Sunday. Duncan currently leads the Panthers with eight stolen bases on the season.

Leading the Panthers in runs batted in is Hunter Morris with 28. Morris has a pair of grand slams on the season as part of his five home runs hit this season. Morris is currently batting .283 (28-for-99) with 49 total bases, 28 RBIs, 13 runs, six doubles, six walks, and five home runs.

EIU will go with their junior starting pitcher Tyler Jones to kick off the series double header on Friday. Alex Stevenson will get the ball to start the second game of the double header on Friday. The Panthers have yet to announce who will get the call to close out the series on Sunday.

Bemlont will go with their senior starting pitcher Tyler Vaughn on the mound in the first game of the double header Friday. Right handed pitcher, Connor Etheridge will start game two of the double header for Belmont. Belmont will turn to Casey Queener to close out the series on Sunday.

Eastern Illinois is playing in its 112th season of intercollegiate baseball. EIU has an all-time record of 1,761 and 1,567 loses.  After their weekend series against Belmont, the Panthers will play host to Butler (April, 17).
