The Eastern Illinois baseball team will close out the 2018 regular season at Austin Peay this weekend. EIU looks to keep their OVC tournament hopes alive as the Panthers currently sit in ninth in the OVC. Entering the weekend, Austin Peay currently holds third in the OVC at 17-10.

The Eastern Illinois baseball team will close out the 2018 season at Austin Peay this weekend for a conference series. Austin Peay enters the weekend third in the OVC at 17-10, with a 30-22 overall record.

The series is set to begin Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at  6 p.m., and concluding the series will be a 1 p.m. showdown Saturday.
Jimmy Govern enters the weekend currently leading the Panthers offense. Govern is batting .335 (52-for-155) with 81 total bases, 37 runs, 33 RBIs, 20 walks, nine doubles, six home runs, six stolen bases, and a triple.

Dougie Parks currently leads the Panthers in home runs with 13. Parks ranks seventh in the OVC for home runs. Parks also ranks seventh in the OVC for walks with 37.

Tyler Jones to kick off the series on Thursday.
Alex Stevenson will get the ball to start the second game of the series on Friday. The Panthers have yet to announce who will get the call to close out the series for senior day on Saturday.

Ausitn Peay will go with their senior starting pitcher Michael Costanzo on the mound in the first game on Thursday. Costanzo enters the weekend with a record of 9-1, with 79.0 innings pitched, and an ERA of 4.10. Left-handed pitcher, Jacques Puchea will start game two of the series for Austin Peay. Pucheu enters the weekend with a record of 7-2, with 80.0 innings pitched, and an ERA of 3.94. Brandon Vial will get the call to close out the series for Austin Peay.
