CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois athletics has announced that it will once again carry its football games on the EIU Panther Football Radio Network for the 2018 season. The four-station network, which spans half of Illinois, will carry all 11 games this season beginning with the season opener on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Arkansas. This will mark the tenth year that Panther football has been broadcast on the network of stations.
The Panthers will return on the air waves with the Panther Radio Network. All games, home and away, can be heard this season on Hit Mix 88.9 WEIU FM (Coles County), WSVZ 98.3 FM (Shelbyville / Effingham), WMKR 94.3 FM (Taylorville / Springfield) and WHOW 1520 AM (Clinton / Decatur / Springfield). Broadcasts begin with a 30-minute pregame show with veteran broadcasters Mike Bradd and Jack Ashmore will providing the action.
The season opener at Arkansas will have a TV broadcast on the SEC Network while the Sept. 8 Mid-America Classic game at Illinois State will be broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago (formerly Comcast Sports Chicago). TV broadcast options for the remainder of the EIU's non-conference and Ohio Valley Conference games will be released in the coming weeks prior to the season opener.
