CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois women's basketball head coach
Matt Bollant elevated Cleve Wright to associate head coach for the 2018-19 season. Wright served as an assistant coach last year under Bollant's first season leading the program.
Prior to joining the EIU staff in June 2017, Wright served as the head women's basketball at Miami-Ohio from 2013-17 and Gannon University from 2002-13. He coached one Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team selection while at Miami-Ohio.
During his stint at Gannon University, Wright finished with a 233-100 overall record. He coached seven NCAA Division II All-Americans and 37 All-Conference team selections. Wright coached the team to five NCAA Division II Tournament appearances including the Final Four in 2010 with a 37-1 record and the Elite Eight in 2013 with a 31-5 record. Wright was also a three time Conference Coach of the Year.
