CHARLESTON, Ill - Eastern Illinois men's soccer played to a 1-1 draw vs. Evansville Friday afternoon in their home opener. The Panthers are now 1-0-1 on the season while the Purple Aces move to 0-2-1 overall.
Christian Sosnowski scored his second goal of the season for EIU off a free kick at the 43 minute mark. The Panthers finished the match with seven total shots and five shots on goal.

Zabdiel Justiniano each recorded one shot on goal.
Jesse Stafford-Lacey tied the game for the Purple Aces off a penalty kick at the 75 minute mark. Evansville took nine shots with seven on goal. Adam Snow led both teams with two shots on goal.
Jonathon Burke made the start in the net for EIU. He made six stops allowing only one goal. Frederik Reimer made four saves in the net and allowed one goal for the Purple Aces.
The Panthers will be back in action on Sunday Sept. 2. They will play the visiting Green Bay Phoenix at 1 pm.
