CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois scored its first goal at home this season and finished with more shots on goal than IUPUI on Friday afternoon but after 110 minutes of action the Panthers walked away with a 1-1 draw.

EIU is now 0-2-2 on the season with both ties coming at home. IUPUI is now 1-3-1 on the season. EIU travels to Chicago State for a Sunday match at 1 p.m.

IUPUI got on the board first as the Panthers were called for a hand ball in the goal box during a shot attempt by the Jaguars. Miranda Ricks then knocked home the penalty kick to give IUPUI the 1-0 edge in the 48th minute.

The Panthers battled back and tied the score at 1-1 in the 66th minute as
Lexi Ketterhagen sent a ball into the box from the right side.Â
Kate Olson got an initial header on it before
Haylee Renick finished off the play with a goal on a one time touch into the net.

EIU would finish with 16 total shots including seven shots on goal. IUPUI had 14 total shots with five shots on goal.
