CHICAGO – Eastern Illinois women's soccer had a dominating performance on Sunday afternoon as the Panthers picked up their first win of the season and the first career win for Coach
Jake Plant with a 2-0 victory at Chicago State.
EIU improved to 1-2-2 on the year and will host Indiana State next Friday.  Chicago State fell to 0-4-1 on the season.
EIU built a 1-0 lead in the first half as
Haylee Renick scored her second goal of the weekend in the 33rd minute off an assist from
Lindsey Carlson.
The Panthers added an insurance goal in the 67th minute when
Lexi Ketterhagen found the back of the net off an assist from
Elisabeth Held.
EIU goalkeeper
Sara Teteak stopped all four Chicago State shots on goal as she posted her second shutout of the season.
EIU finished with 17 total shots including 12 shots on goal.  Cougars goalkeeper Audra Wisehart made ten saves.Â
Ketterhagen,
Itxaso Aguero and
Pilar Barrio all had two shots on goal for the Panthers.Â
